American Horror Story Season 10 Premiere Date Set For August

American Horror Story Season 10 Premiere Date Set For August

At long last, FX has set a late August premiere date for American Horror Story: Double Feature, which will arrive after the anthology spin-off.

American Horror Story season 10 sets an August premiere date on FX and Hulu. Ryan Murphy’s long-running anthology series has seen its fair share of ups and downs over the years. Centering on everything from a standard haunted house to a witch’s coven, American Horror Story has remained a consistent fan favorite with its impressive rotating cast and larger than life tales. Season 10 is so far shaping up to be one of the biggest yet, with a record-breaking budget and a roster filled with beloved returning players. At the same time, though, much of American Horror Story season 10 remains a mystery.

Officially titled American Horror Story: Double Feature, the latest season was once scheduled to debut last year. However, when the coronavirus pandemic pushed production back considerably, fans were left waiting longer than expected. Plot specifics for season 10 are still being kept under wraps, but the cast will include those like Sarah Paulsen, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Angelica Ross, Finn Wittrock, Frances Conroy, Emma Roberts, Paris Jackson, and Macaulay Culkin. American Horror Story: Double Feature is said to tell two scary stories, one of which will take place by the sea and the other by land.

At long last, American Horror Story season 10 has an official premiere date. FX has announced Double Feature will debut on August 25 before becoming available on Hulu the next day. This means season 10 will drop more than a month after the anthology spin-off American Horror Stories, which debuts on July 15.

In scoring an August premiere date, American Horror Story season 10 becomes the first cycle of the series to premiere outside of September or October. The fall season has often felt like the appropriate time for the horror series, but perhaps the aquatic theme will lend itself well to the late summer debut. Additionally, American Horror Story: Double Feature‘s positioning after the spin-off’s premiere means it might be a while before more information about season 10 is revealed. FX will want to focus on promoting American Horror Stories first.

Still, after waiting longer than expected for the arrival of American Horror Story season 10, fans can finally rest in the knowledge that they know exactly when it will premiere. A trailer could arrive by the end of the month, or perhaps it will be timed to air alongside American Horror Stories. Either way, American Horror Story: Double Feature is just under three months away. Murphy will likely supply a few more teases in the meantime, so there’s still time for speculation about what lies ahead.

WandaVision Creator Explains The Poignant Meaning Behind Quicksilver’s Appearance

WandaVision Creator Explains The Poignant Meaning Behind Quicksilver’s Appearance

Wanda Maximoff’s spin-off show WandaVision was the captivating continuation of the character’s story post-Endgame. Its ending was a real tearjerker as Wanda came to terms with the consequences of her fabricated reality with Vision, but the show’s jaw-dropping inclusion of her brother Pietro was also fueled by poignancy.

Evan Peters’ Quicksilver first appeared in 20th Century Fox’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, and most were surprised and confused by his portrayal appearing in the MCU – where the X-Men have not debuted yet. Marvel fans thought that it was the opening of the Multiverse, ahead of its expected awakening in Spider-Man: No Way Home, but Pietro’s role wasn’t as revelatory as that. Fans actually expected Doctor Strange to turn up – which Benedict Cumberbatch apologized for – leaving the Marvel community with a lot more questions about Pietro.

Luckily, creator Jac Schaeffer had all the answers for The Empire Film Podcast and its listeners, who explained why Peters returned to the role instead of Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Schaeffer confirmed that the first reason was to serve a meta joke to Marvel fans, who would most likely get a kick out of debating its significance.

The second and most important reason is related to Wanda’s grief and how people remember the faces of loved ones who have passed. Schaeffer revealed that a grief counselor was brought on set to explore the symptoms that grief-stricken individuals suffer from. One particular trait that people develop during the grieving process is anxiety over remembering their loved one’s face, and Schaeffer thought that this should be explored in the show. Wanda’s grief for her brother warped how she remembered him physically, and this was also the perfect opportunity to give a nod to Peters’ portrayal.

If you continue this deep dive into Marvel theories and analysis, there may be no way to return from that black hole. In addition to Schaeffer’s insight, a recent theory suggests that each of the first six spin-off shows for Disney Plus is connected to an Infinity Stone, which is a fascinating concept. WandaVision is thought to represent the Reality Stone – since the Scarlet Witch built an alternate reality around her – and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier seems to be connected to the Power Stone.

‘Monster’: Evan Peters Joins Netflix Series From Ryan Murphy & Ian Brennan

‘Monster’: Evan Peters Joins Netflix Series From Ryan Murphy & Ian Brennan

Evan Peters, one of Ryan Murphy’s go-to actors, is set as the title character in Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, a Netflix limited series co-created by longtime collaborators Murphy and Ian Brennan, Deadline has learned. Another actor from the Ryan Murphy TV universe, Niecy Nash, is set to star in the seres, which also has cast Penelope Ann Miller, Shaun J. Brown and Colin Ford, sources said. They join previously announced Richard Jenkins. Netflix declined comment.

Monster chronicles the story of one of America’s most notorious serial killers (Peters), largely told from the point of view of Dahmer’s victims, and dives deeply into the police incompetence and apathy that allowed the Wisconsin native to go on a multiyear killing spree. The series dramatizes at least 10 instances where Dahmer was almost apprehended but ultimately let go. The series also is expected to touch on white privilege, as Dahmer, a clean-cut, good-looking white guy, was repeatedly given a free pass by cops as well as by judges who were lenient when he had been charged with petty crimes.

Carl Franklin is directing the pilot episode. Mock will direct and write several episodes. The two executive produce with Murphy and Brennan. Rounding out the writers room with Brennan and Mock is David McMillan, who serves as supervising producer for the 10-episode limited series that spans the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s and ends with Dahmer’s arrest in the early ’90s. Rashad Robinson of Color of Change, a racial justice project, also serves as supervising producer. Also executive producing are Ryan Murphy Prods.’ Alexis Martin Woodall and Eric Kovtun; Scott Robertson is a co-producer.

Known as the Milwaukee Cannibal or the Milwaukee Monster, Dahmer murdered and dismembered 17 men and boys from 1978-1991, many of them persons of color and some underage. Most of the murders also involved necrophilia, cannibalism and the preservation of body parts. Convicted of 16 murders, he was beaten to death by another inmate in 1994, two years into his sentence. He was 34.

Peters has been a regular presence on Murphy’s American Horror Story since the start, with 1984 as the only season he has not appeared in. He is slated to be back for the upcoming Double Feature installment on FX. Peters also recurred on the Murphy-produced FX drama Pose. He recently recurred on Disney+’s WandaVision and will next be seen opposite Kate WInslet in HBO’s Mare of Easttown.

“American Horror Story: Double Feature” Confirmed as Season 10 Title

After months of dropping breadcrumbs on social media, Ryan Murphy has finally revealed that American Horror Story: Double Feature will serve as the 10th season of his FX anthology series.

The news was announced Friday on Murphy’s social media accounts, the source of all major Horror Story reveals. The accompanying teaser describes Double Feature as “two horrifying stories [in] one season. One by the sea, one by the sand.”

In addition to welcoming Macaulay Culkin into the AHS universe, the cast of Double Feature also includes a handful of fan favorites from seasons past: Frances Conroy, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Adina Porter, Lily Rabe, Angelica Ross and Finn Wittrock are all confirmed to appear in significant roles.

Murphy began dropping clues about Season 10 in March 2020, sharing a picture of two gnarled hands crawling out of the ocean accompanied by the caption “Things are beginning to wash up on shore.” Nearly a full year later, we got a much clearer look at the zombie-like creatures to come, once again courtesy of Murphy on social media.
