A new tidbit of information about Evan Peters’ character on the upcoming “American Horror Story: Hotel” has emerged.

The 28-year-old actor, who starred in all previous installments of the FX horror anthology series, recently spoke with the Television Academy, and in the interview, it was revealed that he’s going to play a “Howard Hughes-type eccentric” character in “Hotel.”

Howard Hughes was an American business tycoon, aviator and filmmaker. During his lifetime, he was known as one of the self-made wealthiest people in the world. His life was depicted in Martin Scorsese’s 2004 biographical drama film “The Aviator” with Leonardo DiCaprio playing him.

During the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel last month, Peters revealed that he’s playing the character of Mr. March, and unlike most of his “American Horror Story” characters, Mr. March is a villain.

“Everybody in the show is very excited about this season, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters particularly because in every season thus far they’ve always been sort of the heroes, the good guy or the good lady so to speak, and this season they’re playing absolute evil villains,” Murphy told Deadline in June. “So they’re very excited about that and I think people will really enjoy it.”

Peters is also excited about the upcoming installment, because unlike previous seasons, “Hotel” will feature more male actors.

“I want more and more people to be on the show — more guys,” he told MTV News last month with a laugh. “Let’s get some more bros on here and bro it up a little bit. I’m excited to work with all those guys, I think it’s going to be awesome.”

Your American Horror Story boyfriend Evan Peters is now starring in a movie called Safelight, about a high school boy (Peters) with cerebral palsy who goes on a road trip with a young prostitute (played by Juno Temple) to help her escape her pimp. The movie, set in the 1970s, is pretty heavy, but in the interest of supporting your American Horror Story boyfriend — an excellent actor, don’t forget — you should see it (it’s available on VOD and in select theaters). Cosmopolitan.com spoke to Peters about why the role resonated with him, what he doesn’t understand about teenage girls, and how you can win over his (newly single) heart.

The movie is so heavy. How do you deal with that between takes? Do you stay in character? Try to lighten thing up?
I think it’s important to stay in it. Obviously you have to separate yourself from the character, but it’s important to get the job done as quickly and correctly as you can rather than go cracking a bunch of jokes. There are definitely periods where you have so much down time you’re able to do whatever: eat a sandwich, hang out and talk.

Do you have any hobbies or things you like to do?
I have knitted before, but I gave that up.

Knitting? Really?
Yeah. Now I just read or listen to music or search online and hang out and talk to people. There are so many people at work who are interesting to talk to and learn from, so I’m trying to do that a little bit more.

What appealed to you about this movie?
Well, the physical challenge was a huge thing. I felt a lot for the character — my uncle had cerebral palsy. It’s tough, it’s a really difficult life, but people power through and they push through and that’s what’s so beautiful about it.

Oh, wow, that’s so inspiring. Is your uncle still alive?
No, he passed away.

I’m so sorry. What a wonderful tribute.
Yes, absolutely.

Obviously you’re so different than your character in many ways, but is there anything that teenage Evan can relate to?
Yeah, definitely being insecure and wanting to date a girl but being too insecure with myself to even talk to her.

Oh, yeah, tons of that. I can definitely relate.

It’s so interesting to hear because so many people see you as a big star, so it’s hard to imagine. Have things changed for you now?
No, I’m still terrified. I’m not very good at dating. So. Yeah.

OK, so what’s the way to your heart? How does one crack you?
I don’t know. I guess girls who give me a chance, you know? If I say the wrong thing or do something stupid or fumble or spill shit on my shirt, she’s OK with it. She’s cool with that and will give me another chance to say the right thing, and get past my nerves and insecurity. Gotta give a guy a chance, essentially. There are a lot of girls out there who don’t really want to do that. But there are a lot of girls out there who do, and those are the ones — the only ones — I can really go for. I need a couple more chances than just the first one.
