Mar 4, 2012: Evan Confirmed for “American Horror Story” Season 2!

Jessica Lange and Zachary Quinto will be joined by American Horror Story alums Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Lily Rabe for Season 2, series executive producer Ryan Murphy announced Friday night.

He revealed little else about the premise of the next batch episodes during a PaleyFest event for the FX drama, moderated by Entertainment Weekly’s Tim Stack. But Murphy did say writing has begun with shooting set to begin in July. He previously said that the second season would be set in a “horror institution.”

Before the panel, Lange, who had just gotten back from Mexico, told TVGuide.com that she’s still “in the dark” about her new character. Asked if she wanted it to be someone different or similar to Constance, Lange said she’s hoping for both. “I wouldn’t want to reprise the same kind of character, but the thing I loved about Constance was that she was a big character,” she said. “It was very emotional. There was a lot of dark humor to her. She had many contradictory aspects. All of those things, I hope we can find a way to create with the new character.”

Asked about bringing the same actors back for a show that would be basically resetting itself next season, Murphy compared it to Orson Welles’ Mercury Theatre, the repertory company of stage and radio performers founded in the 1930s. Paulson, who also claimed not to know much about the plot, told us she was happy to return just to work with Murphy again. “I don’t think they’ve ever done a show where a group of actors then came back the next year and played entirely different people and even called it the same thing. Leave it to Ryan Murphy,” she said.

Feb 9, 2012: Evan Peters Join “Adult World”

John Cusack and Evan Peters have joined Emma Roberts in Adult World, a film that has just begun production in upstate New York through TreeHouse Pictures and Anonymous Content. Scott Coffey (Elle Parker) directs from the script by Andrew Cochran. “Adult World examines the contemporary state of post-graduate life in America,” said TreeHouse Pictures president Justin Nappi. “This is a smart satirical comedy that will resonate with a lot of people.”

Roberts plays 21-year old Amy Anderson, a recent college graduate with a degree in poetry. Convinced she is the next star in the literary world, moves back with her parents to write poetry — but with a stack of rejection letters, unpaid student loans, and no money, her parents force her to get a “real job.” The only place that will hire her is an erotic bookstore called Adult World. Cusack plays Rat Billings, Amy’s hero and mentor who was one of the greatest poets of the early ’90s. Peters, memorable in the first season of American Horror Story, stars as Manny.

Jan 1, 2012: A Tribute To American Horror Story‘s Taissa Farmiga And Evan Peters

Last night’s American Horror Story was full of what we’ve come to expect from the show: a butt shot or two, lots of blood, creepy babies and everybody dying. (Everyone that is, except Constance. How is that crazy b*tch still alive?!) We’re not even sure if we like the show or not. It’s kind of like egg nog — so delicious that it’s kind of gross but we can’t.stop.drinking.it. And while AHS is beyond wacky and sends us into eye roll spasms at times, the acting is what keeps us coming back: Connie Britton, Jessica Lange, Zachary Quinto, Dylan McDermott, Mena Suvari, Kate Mara, Burn-face Dude (the amazing Denis O’Hare), and the two Moiras (Frances Conroy and Alexandra Breckenridge) all rock the sh*t out of some of the weirdest characters ever created. But our two favorites out of this amazing crop of talent are Evan Peters and Taissa Farmiga, who play troubled ghost-human (and then ghost-ghost) teen lovers Tate and Violet.

Let’s start with Evan. He somehow has made us empathize with a psychopathic killer, who not only murdered fifteen fellow students but torched his mom’s boyfriend and raped his girlfriend’s mom. His performance is nuanced and delicate, and he’s taken the world’s worst human and made him loveable. Even as he was about to murder that innocent skateboarding kid in last night’s finale, we still felt for him. “Oh man, he just loves Violet so much!” we muttered to our cat through a mouthful of popcorn. We are making excuses for a killer – that’s how good of an actor Evan Peters is.

Dec 28, 2011: 2011 Breakout TV Stars: Evan Peters Tells an American Horror Story

It takes a very special actor to make a psychopathic killer a character people actually root for. And Evan Peters happens to be that special.

Of course, he isn’t even aware of how much fans adore American Horror Story‘s Tate, but we made sure to tell him many times while we talked with him. Peters is one of our Breakout TV Stars of 2011, and he just so happens to be modest, smart and, surprisingly enough, not a fan of latex…

We’ve chosen you as one of our breakout stars because fans really love your character on American Horror Story. Are you aware of all the buzz surrounding you?
Evan Peters: No, that’s awesome! That’s great. I didn’t know that. That’s cool.

Did you think that your character would ever get this kind of reaction?
Um, no. [Laughs.] I had no idea. I didn’t even know that it was going to be this cool to act [the part]. I’m having such a good time with it because they kept writing this amazing stuff for Tate to do, and it’s just an actor’s dream to be able to play this kind of stuff. So I’m pretty grateful and psyched that it turned out the way that it did.

Dec 22, 2011: Evan Peters on Lube, That ‘Fox’ Jennifer Lawrence, and Fangirls

He’s American Horror Story’s school shooter, rapist, demon daddy, and homophobic killer who should never be allowed near a fire poker again. And, yet, depending on who you ask, Tate Langdon (played by Evan Peters) is also the show’s heartthrob: He’s misunderstood. He’s protective. He wants to spend all of eternity with Violet. (Never mind that he’s insane!) We spoke with Peters ahead of tonight’s season finale about whether his fangirls are right in the head, auditioning for The Hunger Games, and lube.

Violet said at the end of last episode that Tate is all darkness. Is that how you see your character?
No. I mean, I think he wants to be good. I just think that he messes everything up. He goes about it the wrong way; he goes about it in a dark way, I guess.

Yes, killing and rape are dark! Are you surprised that you have so many fangirls, considering? There’s a Tatesfangirl Tumblr.
I literally didn’t know what Tumblr was [until] I did a photo shoot with Tyler Shields, and he texted me, and he’s like, “Dude, all the girls love you.” I was like, “What are you talking about?” And he said there were all these Tumblr views or something. And I didn’t want to text back, like, “What’s Tumblr?” So I just Googled it.
